Recycling and Yard Waste Information

Yard Waste: Yard waste will include grass clippings trimmings from shrubs and trees, and other greenery from general yard maintenance operations. It will be collected as a separate waste stream from the refuse and garbage defined above. It must be maintained in approved biodegradable paper sacks, or in plastic bins. These bins must be clearly marked as YARD WASTE. If any large bushes or trees are included, they must be in bundles less than 4 feet long, weigh less than 50 pounds, and no tree limbs in excess of 2 " in diameter. If the total yard waste exceeds 50 pounds, then multiple bags and/or bundles must be used. Any such bundles must be securely fastened with twine, rope, or other biodegradable fastening material.

Special Pick Up Items: This class of waste includes large household items such as furniture, mattresses, and household appliances such as washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators and freezers.

Recycling Service and Recyclables: This class of waste must be collected on a biweekly basis. Each residence wishing to participate in the recycling collection program will be provided one recycling bin without cost to the resident. All residents were delivered bins at the start of this contract. Any resident that requests an extra bin can call and request a bin or there will be bins available at the Township office.

The following items will be included in the recycling program:

"In one stream, all the paper and newsprint, no glossy paper if possible, as this has to be removed at the Recycling Center, and in a second, separate stream, we will collect metal containers, and No. 1 and No. 2 plastic containers. If any of these recycled items are soiled, the waste truck will collect them for disposal at the landfill

Christmas Trees: Christmas trees will be picked up with the normal household refuse from December 26th through January 15th. All large trees must be in bundles less than 4 feet long, weigh less than 50 pounds, and no tree limbs in excess in excess of 2 " in diameter.
